Mobile Tracking System ceir.gov.in Portal 

On May 17, 2023, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) announced that the CEIR mobile tracking system is ready to launch PAN India. Under this program, the central government has also launched the official CEIR portal login i.e. www.ceir.gov.in. Through this portal, people will be able to block and track their lost or stolen mobile phones all across the country.

During the pilot phase of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) system, it was registered in some telecom circles, including Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka and the Northeast region.

How Does Mobile Tracking System Work?

To block and track your lost/stolen phone, you need to know your mobile IMEI numbers. Then with the help of the CEIR system, operators will use this IMEI number to track the lost or stolen device.

How To Know Your Mobile IMEI Number?

  • IMEI number is written on the mobile box
  • You will get it on the mobile bill/invoice.
  • Dial *#06# on your mobile and you will get the IMEI number on your screen.

  • Now application form to block stolen/ lost phones will be open on your screen.
  • Fill in all the details asked in the application form such as.

    2. Lost Information:- Place, state, date, and upload the complaint.

  • After completely filling out the application form, click on submit.
  • Atlast you will get a Request ID. Save it for future use like checking the status of your request and for unblocking the IMEI in future.
  • Now within 24 hours, your phone will be blocked. After the phone has been blocked, no one will be able to use it on any network across India.
  • File a report with the police station, and keep a copy of the report you have to upload it online while blocking the mobile.
  • Get a duplicate SIM card for the lost number from your telecom service provider. While submitting the request to block your IMEI you need to provide it as primary mobile number (OTP will be sent to this number).

  • After completing the application form click on submit.
  • At last, after submitting the form, the IMEI will be unblocked and you will be able to use your mobile.

  • On the homepage, you have to click on register a complaint.
  • Now complaint form will be open on your screen.
  • Fill in all the details asked in the complaint form and click on submit.
  • After submitting the complaint form, you will get a unique Complaint ID.
  • A complaint form will be sent to your email.
